Each heart straining not to break, yet close to breaking open

This wall-mounted textile sculpture comprises three large sections of plain handwoven cloth hand quilted to industrial wool felt. Acid dye has been poured onto the surface with cross-stitch embroidery and small pieces of overshot-woven cloth added as appliqué. It was created over a five-year period.
