Pewter, used to create these two vessels, remains relatively unfamiliar in Korea. It is a material suited to traditional hammer-forming techniques, which are Donghyun Kim's specialisation. One vessel functions as a vase, and the other serves as a pitcher. Together they symbolise the female and the male. In making metal vessels, Donghyun has consistently tried to express the human condition, going far beyond basic physical function.
