This paper sculpture, titled Azure Jay, is made with watercolour on Canson Mi-Teintes paper. It is cut and shaped by hand. This work depicts the Azure Jay (Cyanocorax caeruleus), a bird native to Brazil and found mainly in the southern regions of the country, where Carlos Meira comes from. The piece shows the bird perched on a small branch, combining shades of blue, grey and green in layered paper relief.
