Nomathemba and Nokukhanya

These pieces, titled Hope and Light, are three-legged sculptural clay chairs, hand-coiled and pit-fired with newspaper for a charcoal hue. Their carved surfaces have scale-like patterns. Each backrest is shaped like cow horns.
