Ndim Ndinje

Ndim Ndinje

This terracotta vessel, titled I am Me, is hand-built using the coiling technique. Trees, rivers and human connection to the earth inspire the vessel's surface patterns, organic bulbous mid-section, and elongated flared-rim neck that flows upwards from a narrow conical base. The object's mottled brown and black surface is a result of using traditional burnishing techniques and smoke-firing in place of glaze.
