This terracotta vessel, titled This is Me, is hand-built using the coiling technique. Trees, rivers and human connection to the earth inspire the vessel's surface patterns, organic bulbous mid-section and tall flared-rim neck that flows upwards from a narrow conical base. The object's mottled brown and black surface is a result of using traditional burnishing techniques and smoke-firing in place of glaze.
Homo Faber Finds is a new service aiming to inspire admirers of craft to connect and collaborate with exceptional artisans.
