This is a double sided terracotta tile panel, enveloped with a carving of hand gestures. Gerald Mak finished it with a jade green glaze to highlight the silhouette of the motifs. The tile is mounted in a freestanding birch wood frame, giving visibility to both sides. The piece reinterprets the traditional screen panel often found in a Chinese literati studio, blending historical reference with contemporary form.
