Silver Alyssum
This silver garland of flowers is made using nickel and silver-plated spoons and hardware. Each flower is individually welded and built up to form the object. The object is a modern-day memento mori, inspired by the carvings of the famous sculptor Grinling Gibbons and 17th and 18th century Dutch Vanitas still-life paintings that are full of precious objects testifying to the pleasures of life and the flow of time.
