This piece is one of eight from the Horn of Amalthea series. It represents the abundance and prosperity that emerge from the mythical horn. The design of the vase combines organic forms that evoke both bones and flowers. It is made with the coiling technique, then carved and refined while still semi-dry, before being trimmed to its final shape. After firing, it is dipped in a white matte glaze, giving it a smooth, flowing finish before being fired one last time to ensure durability and a refined surface.
