Buncheong silver plantain flat bottle

This flat bottle is formed into two plates by a spinning wheel, then set upright with the mouth and legs joined together. From the front, it presents a smooth and stable silhouette, and from the side, it appears unstable and slightly precarious. After applying white slip, the crematory soil, to the surface, a broad plantain leaf is painted and decorated with silver. The leaf symbolises the warmth of the South, while its expansive shape evokes an ambivalent sense of coolness, offering both shade and a suggestion of breeze.
