This sculpture, handcrafted from umburana wood, represents a mandacaru cactus, a symbol of resilience and survival in the arid landscapes of north-eastern Brazil. It features a red bloom at the tip of one arm, and a bird on the other. The piece reflects the deep connection Marcos Costa has to the landscapes of Pernambuco.
