Psychopomp

This is hand-cut off-white washi paper composition with some elements of gold and silver paint. This artwork is a tall piece split into two parts through a large tear in the paper in the middle of the artwork. Representing our world, life, and growth in the top half of the artwork, and the underworld in the upturned, underside of the artwork. Everything in the image symbolises life, death, and day and night. Flowers bloom above and below, animals inhabit the worlds, representing the animal kingdom, spirits and deities of the human world and the afterlife.
