E pur si muove

This piece consists of a 60kg half-sphere of raw clay harvested from the Bossy tileworks quarry and prepared by hand. A line engraved on the metal plate marks its original diametre. As it dries over the course of the exhibition, the half-sphere shrinks and lifts, reflecting the invisible movements that run through it.
