Japanese Snowball box

Crafted in 2017, this round box is inspired by the delicate beauty of Japanese snowball flowers. The base is constructed from hemp fabric that was meticulously hardened and layered with rich Japanese lacquer for a sleek finish. The intricate floral design is rendered with eggshells, adding a unique texture and depth. Complementing the flowers, the leaves are depicted using elegant gold maki-e. This piece seamlessly blends traditional materials and techniques, showcasing a refined fusion of craftsmanship and natural inspiration.
