Espejismo mural

The works in the Espejismo series consist of a set of rectangular ceramic murals, composed by juxtaposing hundreds of thin ceramic tiles, each individually shaped to create a broken edge resembling torn paper. When assembling these murals, Myriam Jiménez tilts the tiles in different directions, creating a play of light and shadow that gives movement and depth to the piece. The material used, majolica, is white, but the artist achieves different shades by tilting the tiles. This mural is made up of five strips of the same size, with all the tiles placed vertically to enhance the mirage effect.
