Illuminated Piñata 4

This piñata sculpture is a representation of a basilisk from a 13th century bestiary, a creature said to have the ability to kill someone with its look, hiss or even its scent. This piece is part of the Illuminated Piñata series based on the medieval marginalia creatures that roam the borders of medieval manuscripts.
