Oshima

This is a pattern used for men's kimonos. During the Meiji period (1868-1912), wearing a kimono was commonplace, and this pattern was worn by officials and workers alike. It consists of a square hailstone pattern and two dotted lines. The two dotted lines are said to have been designed to imitate the tramway that ran through the area back then.
