This lime stucco (hot-pressed marble imitation) is a replica of an original dado rail previously created by Oriol García. To execute this technique, a base coat is applied and then painted with greasy ink, using a tempera prepared with lime and vegetable soap, which is then polished with special irons heated in a charcoal brazier. Finally, for the frieze casting, a zinc template is used to transfer the design onto the still-wet surface. It is then scraped with a wire brush.
