HOMO FABER FELLOWSHIP

Palustris footed disc

This warmed, concave piece is made from pin oak and is hand-carved on a lathe. The rim features a largely rough chainsaw-textured edge, and an indent formed by a natural bark inclusion. Running inwards from the rim is hairline crack that is stitched and stapled with fine copper wire. The wood is bleached to accentuate the grain patterns. The disc stands on 3 carved integral, unattached conical legs.
