This bodice was a commission for Fortnum & Mason. The words embroidered onto it tell the story of Sir Winston Churchill, his mother and their connection with the store. On the right-hand sleeve is a letter Churchill wrote to his mother recalling the Fortnum & Mason hamper Lady Wilton had sent him. The title of this object recalls the final signature in the letter.
