This piece’s shape and volume are Aitor Martínez’ way of representing presence and prominence. It is inspired by the overwhelming resonance of archaic tribal bowls. Making the piece posed the challenge of making it delicate despite its proportions and the fact that it was still evolving as the green oak dried. The result is a representation of the evolution of ego, from the fight to be, to letting be.
