This is a hand-wrapped silk warp tapestry with combined digital embroidery and hand-wrapped silk threads. The work features embroidered abstracted orchid outlines that fade across the silk warp, referencing the decline of Bangladesh’s native orchid populations due to deforestation and the illegal cultivation of endangered species. The piece was showcased at the Material Futures exhibition during London Craft Week 2021.
