This silk tapestry is embroidered with a combination of digital and Ari hook hand-stitched motifs, embellished with crystal and pearl beading. Worked in silk threads on a Como silk warp, the piece was an international co-commission by the British Council Bangladesh to mark 50 years of Bangladeshi independence. The grey silk tones reference the black and white family photographs of the Kamilah Ahmed, which served as inspiration.
