This small rug or sitting mat with original textile art was inspired by the Bauhaus movement. The shapes of the design are cut from pre-felt which is lightly felted wool fabric in different colours. The pieces are assembled in a wet state, then filled with wool layers and as a last step, felted. The patterns are highlighted with relief quilting, a hand stitch method originating in Mongolian traditions.
Homo Faber Finds is a new service aiming to inspire admirers of craft to connect and collaborate with exceptional artisans.
