Homo Ballisticus
The third sculpture in the “Warheads” series, Homo Ballisticus portrays Allan D. Cors, director of the National Rifle Association (NRA) from 2015 to 2017. After meticulously modelling his face, Cathy has added another dimension by catapulting steel projectiles into it. She does not consider this violent gesture to be destructive because the precise imprints made by the balls in the fresh clay fit perfectly into the fine lines neatly etched into the surface.
