Agateware vases

These are two ceramic agateware vases formed using a porcelain-type stoneware body. Each vase is decorated with a contrasting combination of hand-prepared coloured clays mimicking agate stone. The vases are individually thrown and turned, inside and out to accentuate the agate surfaces, then fired, glazed on the inside and polished on the outside.
