Black Koi Carp Biotope

A small group of koi come to the surface of the water to be fed. Black is the usual colour of carp ponds in Japan, and Andreas believed that a black background would best enhance the colours of the fish. During his childhood, he found much pleasure in feeding fish in ponds, a warm memory that inspired many of his pieces.
