Monarchie

A swarm of red monarchs billows over a gilded room divider. The scene was inspired by late-summer landscapes in North America when the butterflies are attracted to the warmth of the pine trunks where they lay their eggs. Andreas uses a gold leaf background in many of his works to represent the environment of his subjects.
