For years, Juliette has explored notions of feminine identity as well as the representation of women in contemporary society and in history. In her series of porcelain busts, women metamorphose into hybrid beings, a clever blend of history, myths and dreams. The female figure is invaded by a profusion of fauna and flora, nature both sweet and disturbing. Like a new Hitchcock scene, you can almost hear the sounds of the jungle: the fluttering of a bird's wings, the slither of a snake.
