Almofariz

This is a mortar with a rounded rim and base and a conical pestle. Made from French oak wood or Portuguese afizélia wood, the pieces were manually cut, carved and polished. They are treated with a resistant wax preparation that allows safe contact with food, keeping the wood hydrated and waterproof.
