This handcrafted marionette represents the character of Avolio. The armour of this Sicilian puppet is inspired by the famous ceramic motifs typical of eastern Sicily. The peculiarity of this work is the unchiselled copper. The surface has been left purposely smooth so that it can be painted on with oil colours, highlighting the baroque decorations on a white enamel base.
