Mythological Jar

This contemporary jar featuring mythological imagery was hand built from stoneware and the surface decorated with porcelain slip, brushwork and platinum and gold finishings. Aster's universe is distinguished by its graphic narrative style, most often in black and white, contrasted by bright tints. The delicacy of her drawing evokes scientific illustrations or old engravings. Certain details are highlighted with gold and precious metals on the third firing.
