Ayana large basket

To create this basket, Tiago Braga drew from the rich traditions of female artisans in the Atlantic Forest region of southern Brazil, particularly in Arroio Grande, Caraá, and Maquiné, areas shaped by the convergence of indigenous, African, and Italian heritage. Using banana fibre abundant in the region, Tiago reinterprets utilitarian basketry by blending ancestral know-how with contemporary expression.
