Green Jade
The bowl was turned from an ash tree of over 100 years old. The ledge and the exterior of the bowl have fine grooves to optically emphasise the grain of the annual rings in the wood. After that, the shell was stained, waxed and the surface coloured in a green shade of jade. The surface was then repeatedly varnished to create an appearance reminiscent of glass.
