Floating Illusion
Designed for the Dutch Design Contest 2010 with the theme of Enchantment Ring, the piece made it to the final round of the competition. The floating ball was inspired by the Dutch sweet toverbal, a gobstopper made up of coloured layers of sugar. Magnets and invisible thread cause the ball to 'float'.
