The first chapter of this porcelain series has light and shadow as its main theme. “Shadow, as an existence between abstraction and realism, is the work of the sun. Through the shadows, what we see are non-intuitive things, and what makes the image complete is the imagination of the viewer, which depends on the life experience of each person.” With perspective painting, relief and colour effects Wenqi Liu explores different techniques, thus questioning her relationship to perception.
