This commissioned wall piece was inspired by mountain landscapes from the Friuli Venezia Giulia region, in particular a place called Spartiacque. Spartiacque, watershed in English, is a geographical term used to describe an area that separates waters flowing to different rivers. It is also used to describe a turning point in a situation. This double meaning is depicted in this mosaic made of precious Venetian smalti.
