Alain Mailland is one of Europe's foremost wood sculptors, specialised in turning and sculpting exquisite organic shapes. During the course, which is restricted to only one or two students at a time, participants will learn how to turn and carve flower and marine shapes from natural green wood from the south of France. Alain will introduce participants to carving techniques using both hand tools and machinery, off-centering techniques, steam bending and sanding.
