Introduction to the lathe

This 3-day course focuses on the operation of the wood lathe and all its elements, as well as learning how to use the working tools correctly. The trainee will enter into the world of cutting, shapes and textures, to acquire the knowledge and techniques that will allow them create pieces on the lathe. The artisan Jordi Pladevall will talk about the different working positions of each tool, and how it directly affects the way wood is cut and the artisan's own body. He will discuss which are the most ergonomic and versatile positions to use in front of the lathe. By the end, students will have acquired theoretical and practical knowledge in a pleasant environment surrounded by wood.
