Three crafts, one enduring mastery of furniture making

Dominique and Éric Sanson master the complementary crafts of marquetry, cabinetmaking and gainerie, the art of covering objects and furniture with leather. Recognised with the titles of Meilleur Ouvrier de France and Maître d’Art, they have practised these techniques for more than 40 years. During the live demonstration at Homo Faber 2026, the Sanson brothers will present examples of their work to reveal the techniques behind these three crafts. Visitors will discover how marquetry, woodwork and leatherwork come together in the creation of finely crafted objects.
