Textile rust printing near Florence

The course is for anyone who is interested in learning the craft of textile rust hand block printing, a technique which dates back five hundred years in Romagna. It is held by Giulia Serafini and Antonio Bandini in their workshop, Peromatto, located in the heart of Apennines, where they produce bed and bath linens, home fabrics, bags and clothes. After an introduction to the history of this method, a lesson will show each phase of the process: designing, printing and colour fixing. During the course, every participant will be able to create their own design, carve their own block in linoleum or wood, rust print and develop their own piece.
