From designing the cardboard to the choice of colours and materials, you will also discover all the talent and dexterity required by the weavers when working on a “basse-lisse” loom. The visit continues with a presentation of the techniques combining creativity and innovation used to make a “hand-tuft” carpet, a modern version of the prized Savonnerie rugs that once graced the palaces of Europe.
