Raku firing masterclass near Girona

Ceramicist Caterina Roma and her team hold various courses and experiences in the artisan's beautiful garden near Girona. One of the courses is dedicated to the ancient Japanese firing technique of raku. Participants will be introduced to this very special firing, with which we can achieve unexpected and magnificent effects. Experimentation with the elements of nature – clay, water, fire, wood – are dear to the artisan and play a central role. Pieces are removed from the kiln, while still very hot, and go through a quick cooling process. Each participant will leave with their own unique creation.
