This three-hour introductory course devised by Elizabeth Kent is suitable for beginners who want to experience the magical transformation of metal into a mirror finish, working directly with metal leaf on glass. These traditional techniques were developed by Elizabeth to create contemporary pieces for exhibitions and private commissions. All materials will be provided. During the workshop participants will explore how different leaf types create different effects and how they can be layered in a variety of ways. Time will be given to practice laying gold or silver leaf over the A5 glass piece, and stencils will be available for creating interesting shapes.
