Glass thermoforming workshop

with Françoise Bolli

New horizons in glassmaking

In this two-day workshop glass artist Françoise Bolli demonstrates and teaches the technique of glass thermoforming, which involves deforming glass through exposure to high temperatures. The course is particularly orientated towards the bending of flat glass sheets. Thermoforming can be used to make an impression in the glass, to model it or to create a glass sculpture, either in low, medium or high relief. The technique is used to produce decorative or functional objects in glass or to create original structures, reliefs and decorations, which can also be integrated into a stained glass window. Participants must have basic knowledge of working with glass or stained glass. Price includes materials and tools on loan.
