Ceramics

Úbeda, Spain

At the workshop museum of Juan Pablo, students will learn about the pottery pieces that are displayed, their origin, uses and evolution. In the sculpture rooms of the museum there are some clay scenes that represent 'Los Quijotes de Paco Tito', from the novel by Cervantes. After this brief historic introduction, students will be brought into the workshop where they can experience sinking their hands in the clay to make their own piece. Juan Pablo will do a demonstration and explain the process of making, decorating, drying and firing. The students will also learn the technique of firing in an original Arabic oven. Reservations must be made at least one week in advance, and all children should be accompanied by parents. The child fee is set at 25 EUR.
