Decorative painting classes in Malta

For centuries, objects and surfaces have been decorated to beautify and personalise our surroundings. Decorative painting techniques have the ability to transform and uplift an ordinary surface. Workshops are arranged in the studios of the Painted Screen, and they teach the process of decorative painting techniques while exploring the properties of different pigments and binders. Participants will learn about principles such as surface preparation, priming, the choice and application of paint, glazing and patinas. Depending on the participants, the course can be adapted to focus on faux painting techniques such as marbling, wood-grain effects or hand painted motifs.
