Porcelain makers for royalty

Porzellanmanufaktur Augarten was founded in 1718 by Claudius Innocentius du Paquier who brought to Vienna the secrets of porcelain production. Since 1923, it has been housed in the Augarten palace in the heart of Vienna. The manufacturer was the official supplier of porcelain, known as 'white gold', to the Habsburg Court. Empress Maria Theresia, who bought the company in 1744, gave her coat of arms to every single piece. Throughout history, the beauty and purity of Augarten porcelain has attracted famous names including Napoleon Bonaparte, Jacqueline Kennedy and Empress Farah Diba.

Today the company collaborates with several prestigious artists, fashion companies and luxury brands. Since the beginning, Augarten has used traditional production methods, ensuring the highest quality and enduring value of its creations. Each step in the porcelain manufacturing process requires specialists including mould makers, model makers, stove setters, painters, edgers and gold polishers, who collaborate closely in order to create beautiful objects.
