Anne Goldfarb

Featherworker

Jewels of nature

  • Anne enjoys having contact with nature
  • She has been collecting feathers since she was a little girl
  • She loves to take visitors on an imaginary journey

Anne Goldfarb studied the basics of metalworking in a contemporary jewellery school in Paris before following a complementary training in featherworking with recognized designers. Having collected feathers since she was a little girl, the idea of pairing them with metal work came naturally. The world of jewellery combines everything she loves: meticulous work with great design freedom, a feminine universe and an inspiring historical heritage. Her explorations gave way to the use of feathers in her designs. She inaugurated her boutique-studio in 2013 where customers can freely discover her universe, her work processes or even participate in an initiation workshop and leave with their personalized creation. Whether it is jewellery or decoration, her work is an ode to the beauties of nature and the joy of living, with unique pieces that combine design, refinement and colours.

What is unexpected about your work?
Maybe my passion for everything related to the history of the feather's use in decoration. Over time, I have gained knowledge that I gladly share in my blog or with clients. I also try to use all parts of the feathers, including material scraps.
Where do you get your inspiration from?
My work is inspired by the wonders of nature that I highlight with my own sensitivity and my love of colour! I also feel an affinity with Art Deco, for the purity of forms; and Haute Couture and Decorative Arts, for the refinement of ornaments.
What is a memorable moment in your career?
The day when the Réunion des Musées Nationaux de France contacted me to ask me to create a collection of custom jewellery for the retrospective of Toulouse Lautrec at the Grand Palais in Paris, that was certainly an exceptional moment.
What would you advise an aspiring featherworker?
It is a rare profession which is currently experiencing a revival. I would recommend to train in the last European featherworking school (in Paris) and do internships with historic featherworking houses, as well as independent featherworkers.
