Lviv, also known as the city of lions, has always incorporated folk culture in its art, architecture and craftsmanship. In addition to lutherie and ceramics, Lviv’s most renowned type of folk craftsmanship is vytynanka, a type of paper cutting and working, whereby local artisans create home decorations, such as window curtains, tablecloths and garlands.
